To be clear, he did say "eyeing Georgia," so all of them may not be looking at Atlanta.

But regardless, still nice to hear for the state as a whole.

It looks great, but I'm sure it's conceptual and either the plans will fall apart entirely or the buildings will be much blander and uglier when it comes to reality. Atlanta rarely gets high quality projects built these days.

Eat your heart out, City Council. Why have a bridge be privately funded for $5mil when you can dole out $20mil of taxpayer dollars for a gimmick.

Quick Observation

This is not 8 Million sqft of office, 1,500 hotel rooms, 1,000 residences and 1 Million sqft of commercial/retail development. This is a rendering prepared solely for the public CoA City Council meeting today. Expect the next rendering after the HQ2 announcement to be magnitudes more impressive.

Wasn’t there another rendering you posted 3000? Although if I recall that was was a very, very rough outline. Will the final renderings be of a similar magnitude as the old rough one?

Also, I know this most recent rendering isn’t too impressive, nor is it the real one, but it seems really well done from a more human-scaled level with a good urban and semi-organic look.

(p.s. do you still have the old renderings?)

I never posted one, but if I remember correctly when CIM Group and Perkins + Will presented the development in January to the CoA Zoning, one Parcel was for a 50 story building.

Also, does this rendering look in anyway like an "Entertainment District"?

Looks like the residential and retail numbers will be flat regardless of the amount of office SF.

Given this is a "SkyScraper Forum" I am sure I am in the minority, but I kind of prefer this scale of development. No need for a super-tall office tower-in-a-park(ing lot) or flashing neon-filled entertainment district that is dead during the day / week. Just give me a community with a good mix of people walking around between home, work, and some bars / restaurants all times of the days / week.

What exactly looks so terrible? I'd take this over something like another Bank of America tower any day of the week.

I will say, I do wish it had provisions for the MMPT / commuter rail platforms in it.

I am just not impressed, no height, like 3k said maybe this is not the final, but hell I am going to be six feet under before any of the proposals come to fruition. What, is this going to take ten years to build out???
