From up there the smoke almost looks like mist or clouds.

In case anyone is actually curious, the current air quality in Central Alberta is roughly twice as bad (on an Air Quality Index scale) as compared to most of China.

Is that a shipping yard on the right? It looks like a massive timber building under construction.

In Vancouver, the dismantling of the Empire Landmark adds to the eeriness.

That last set of photos of Montreal looks lovely.

The Empire will be missed....partly for what it could've been.

Some poor sods still have to work outside. Advisories are for people to stay indoors though. I’ve been trying to limit my time outdoors as even working in my office my eyes and throat burn.

After a few days of smoke, the mountains showed up again in Vancouver today! Nice to have fresher air again. I'm only back for a few more weeks, I'd like to enjoy it

I would have thought a large office is the place to be since it has a commercial-grade air conditioning system that at least has some sort of air filtration. As I've discovered since my parents moved to Calgary, most people don't have central AC in their houses as there isn't really any need for it. Keeping all the windows closed for several days would get stifling though.

Wow, that air looks thick enough to take a bite out of. How strongly does it smell? I'm imagining it's like sitting over a campfire, with the smell of the smoke seeping into all your fabrics.
