Mmmmm I don't know. I still think Ottawa (as a City) is afraid and likes to keep away from building tall anytime they can.

We are the same size as Edmonton. They're currently building Stantec Tower - 65 floors and over 250m. Ottawa is currently building a 45 floor tower at 143m.

Let's see if (and how tall) the Bayview Towers get approved at. I'm hoping for 65

This building will look great from so many different vantage points. I can say that it already looks impressive as you come down the hill on Prince of Wales towards the Dow's lake pavilion and Preston...

Can someone post a progress pic from the side perspectives at Bronson/Carling as well well as Carling/Civic Hospital? It's pretty slender from the sides. Next week will mark the 50% point! Currently on Floor 22.

Damn...it's gonna be genuinely tall...if it's as tall as it is now, and only at 50% floor count, not including the roof or any embellishments...

I'll get one from Bronson/Carling in the next few days. I'm usually down that way in the evenings with the sun setting so the photos never turn out well.

Can see this building from Riverside/Bronson now near Carleton. Going to look tall.

It's always been the NCC (so yes, the Feds) mostly. Campeau had originally proposed 42 floors for Tower C. Though the City approved the proposal, the NCC stepped in and cut it down to 29. He came back in the early 90s with an even taller proposal for PdV III, and that's when the NCC implemented the even stricter height restrictions based on Parliamentary viewpoints.

The Church north of the Icon on Preston Street is sold. The for sale signs for Two semi detached homes on Adeline St. east of the sales center are gone so they maybe sold too. Would be interesting to know if Claridge is the buyer.

I just walked by and noticed that they’ve begun installing glass and metal siding on Level 5 at the northwest corner (closest to the church)!

And now we see if the quality of the cladding material makes or breaks the look of the tower. Can we get some pictures?

Any ideas when this will be completed and opened as it seems to be running a fair bit behind?

Will it feature some sort of public access to the roof area, like observatory or restaurant? (Similar to how the Brigil Place des Peuples would have had an observatory).

Browsing through the old posts, they started in March 2015 and I recall it was supposed to take about 3 years to build. Then given the tragic accident, that probably put them behind 6 months,m which would then put completion at right around now, but they are only half way to the top. Based on 1 floor per week, I'm thinking they'll be done by summer 2019.
