On a 5 year period it would be around 5,500 in the Salt Lake City, and 33,000 Ogden to Provo area.
Remember, the Berkadia link doesn't contain every project both under construction nor in development/planned. So the count they have is low.
The chart shows projected apartment deliveries by metro for a given year. Salt Lake City will have close to 2,500 alone this year, the County will add another 1,500.
The problem is that Utah County is adding roughly 1,500 to 1,700 this year and Weber and Davis County are adding around 1,000 this year as well.
With Utah, Davis and Weber counties separate from Salt Lake County for metro counts, none of the growth will count towards the overall growth that is actually happening. So while we all see it and know it is happening, no one outside of the area knows about it.
