Let's just say if what I saw is accurate, some speculation on here has been close to the mark. I can't say on timing, as final scope is still being finalized.

In the meantime perhaps y'all might enjoy a song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5MAg_yWsq8

I believe Gehry, himself, is no longer "working."

Something triangular/pyramidal -- which could also be considered sail shaped -- would make a lot of sense on this lot, wouldn't it? There are setbacks from the creek, and setbacks from the lake (right?) so the highest point has to be on the north-eastern corner of the block. The other renders we've seen for this lot have had setbacks that step up from the creek and cesar chavez. If instead of setbacks you sloped up from the creek/lake you'd get a triangular, pyramidal, sail shape. I think someone here might have once mentioned that the required setbacks are actually defined by angles. So angling the sides of the building may actually be a way of maximizing floor area.

In fact I could see something a lot like Ingels' "pyramid" 57 West on this lot -- flat on two sides (north and east) while sloping on the south and west sides.

edit: Something like this

I suspect it will be a firm like Pelli Clarke Pelli. Unless Trammell Crow releases some info (and they are typically not forthcoming with project info), we probably won't know until the project hits AULCC or the Design Commission.

EDIT: Maybe George Blume knows since Gensler was the previous architect?

Yeah, I don't think a Gehry building would look good. His buildings always look like they're melting, and with the Texas heat...

I remember when I was a kid our grandma had a bucket of crayons for us to play with. Well, guess who left them outside in the summer heat one day. I can expect you can imagine what happened.
