I think pano looks better. Because if the pano you can see all of the building and also the street.

At least that house is made partially of steel. It saddens me that every nice looking house in this city is just a facade covering the cheapest possible OSB thrown together with nails, the bare minimum to comply with code.

My peeve are 'stone' houses which have a layer of fake stone on the front and 3 sides of stucco.

Pano or no pano, the house is getting built and some deserving guy (or girl) who’s worked hard for his money will be enjoying it soon enough.

For sure. With the money it cost for that land, and to build that size of a house, you can be assured it will at least be a sharp looking home.

Just passed by the University District this evening and noticed the fountain in the park'ish area on the NW corner was going and there were people enjoying it. Lots of construction going on there - worth of someone taking some photos down that way.

Haven't seen any update on the cancer centre, but looks like the intersection there is nearing completion. An update on that would be great also.

Who cares about the other three sides? it’s not like you can see much of them anyway.

Yuck. Typical Canadian attitude. I've come to the conclusion that the reason our suburbia is a sea of vinyl sided, treeless dross is that Canadians and Calgarians in particular simply don't give a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 about the appearance of their homes and the place they live. They simply want the largest house possible with the most things.

To be fair though there is not much you can do even if you do care as the builders cater to the masses.

It’s s good attitude to have. Who wants to spend extra money on exterior housing material in order to please pretentious urbanites? Personally, I’d rather spending it on my family or sounding it on having a life.

If you're buyin a new home, you certainly can pay the extra to have all four sides finished in the same material -problem is most people don't want to pay for those extras.

As far as treeless, you are aware that every lot is required and does get a tree planted in the front? Hell, my 1955 community was completely devoid of trees when it was built and you'd never be able to tell now.

Unless it's absolutely essential there are better things to spend your money on. If you're rich enough to afford better exterior materials you'd be living in an area with strict standards on such things.
