It’ll be fine...something interesting to look at while sitting in traffic. So it has its perks.

$150 million mixed-use project underscores more big changes for Atlanta's Westside

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s...2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-b-1

Quote:
Developers Jim Meyer of Atlantic Capital Properties and Mack Reese of Gateway Ventures have a 4-acre site under contract at Howell Mill and 8th streets where many of the city’s top chef-driven restaurants are huddled, including Bocado and The Optimist.

The developers plan to buy the property and start construction without significant pre-leasing as early as October, Meyer said.

Equity was secured from Harvest Capital Group and other capital partners. Construction financing is in place, Meyer said,

The overall mixed-use project, to be called 8 West, will feature 175,000 square feet of office space, 10,000 square feet of retail, 264 apartments developed by Trammell Crow Residential and a 680-space parking deck. Existing retailers fronting the development will be blended into 8 West including Bocado, Bartaco, Arden’s Garden and A Ma Maniere. Hathaway Gallery will also be relocated to the project and will provide artwork for the new building.

Another Major Scoop

If this is what I think it is, it is going to shock the 🞵🞵🞵🞵 out of everyone. It is not about a tech company, but it is very major.

Thyssenkrupp - Suntrust Park

I challenge anyone who questions the value and impact this project has on the Atlanta Metro, but most importantly for Cobb County. Every sub-market in Atlanta has a trophy skyscraper(s):
  • Downtown - Bank of America
  • Midtown - Atlantic Center
  • Buckhead - 3344 Peachtree Soveriegn building
  • Perimeter - King And Queen buildings
  • (AND NOW) Cobb County - Thyssenkrupp Tower

O4W has more residences and greater population density than west midtown, right?? West midtown is starting to feel really populous, despite having ample more parcels for redevelopment.

Technically, the word in the Salt 'n Pepa song is "Shoop."

But if this is in fact as major as you say, I will let it slide.

Alexan 880 is topped out.

The More Marta meeting was awful. They always are when it's public questions.

In my opinion it's because many feel baseball teams/stadiums should be part of a city's fabric -part of the urban experience. Their decision to move out to the suburbs (no matter their reasons) with zero mass transit access was viewed by many as them turning their backs on the city, so that's why you have folks within the city who want their move to fail (and in turn the The Battery as a whole). Also, it just contributes to our awful history of sprawl.

I believe Hanover Peachtree may be topped out as well. Both will be great additions to the neighborhoods with the new residences, retail, and in the case of HP, office components.

Vireo is also making great progress, just harder to get a good view of it as I hardly go down 13th street.
