Well, it's an elevator test shaft that looks like an elegant office tower. And out-of-towners don't need to know.

It looks really good in all honesty, but does that first rendering they display show a giant blank wall up that entire side of the tower? (the one side facing away from the mixed use, on the side of the hotel.)

Yeah, looks like they are going full Disney Land. It is only made to look like an office tower from the stadium. The back is mostly blank.

It looks like there will be a sizable office component to it (I count about 9-10 floors in the companion building) and I appreciate them giving the tower some architectural interest. Plus hundreds of new high-paying jobs.

Yeah, read the article. New office building with hundreds of Corp jobs. This is a huge win for Atlanta and for the Battery. I feel like folks were hoping The Battery would be a failure...not sure why

Well one reason I can think of, the more it grows, the more traffic it generates in an area that is ill-suited for it.

Went to the dry cleaners at the 8th and West Peachtree site today, they are closing down along with everything else including Daiquiri Factory. Sounds like things are moving forward.

No different than any other new project that gets announced. As the city grows there will be more people and more traffic, get used to it.

If there were only some way to reduce automobile traffic by consolidating transit in high occupancy vehicles with frequent stops at important nodes within the city...

I think the Cobb development is exciting. I just wish a rail connected it to the city! I would visit the area lots more.

Of course there's a difference. People react very differently to a large apartment project on Huff Rd. vs one on Piedmont Ave. because the infrastructure available to absorb the extra traffic differs. Same story here.

The Cobb tower is cool I guess. Just gonna look a little weird out there since is still so separated from the Perimeter area towers.
