I did see what was posted before it was deleted. I'll just say from the sounds of it, the reporter must have more details about this than what meets the eye. So I'll reserve my judgment until I see their article (hopefully today).

That was not the the full story. Trust that I am a Big Data guy, I had a financial analyst and veteran commercial real estate PR reporter review the data and all of us shat our pants. Actually it has been all day situation for me, but that is neither here nor there.

Are we certain this wasn't in reference to other Icahn properties leased by other companies with high market caps for other 2030 lease terms..?

http://product.costar.com/home/news/shared/190633

I obviously don't have the full picture either to warrant such optimism but I hope I'm wrong.

Interesting analysis Atlanta 3000! So you're saying AT&T's lease of the 675 West Peachtree building ends in 2021, but

1) they're vacating the building early without considering subleasing the 1.2M sqft of the 1.4M sqft building and
2) the building's owner Icahn is significantly upgrading the property while they haven't announced a new major tenant yet
3) while AT&T supposedly leaves a 1.2M sqft vacuum, only ~500K sqft of the 1.4M sqft total office space is listed.
4) therefore some huge tenant must be moving into the ~900K sqft soon. that being amazon
5) which matches the RFP (it says Phase I Building (500,000-1,000,000 sf)) right?

I found the proof Amazon signed the lease. Not a letter of intent, but a lease through 2030. I cannot say anymore, but great summation of the data points I have had to date.

Hey, you can't leave us hanging like that! Are you absolutely sure its Amazon and not other big tech company like Apple?

All signs are pointing Google coming Atlanta, but not this building. When Atlantic Yards formally starts you will know that is a done deal. Apple not heard anything.

The deal at 675 WP could be anyone, but it is someone taking 900K. I just heard in March they signed a LoI there and now I found conclusive proof of the lease.

The only other question I have is, if what you say is true about the lease, what makes you so sure this is in fact related to HQ2 and not the expansion (or establishment) of a smaller regional office, similar to what's happening in Vancouver?

Did you read my earlier post I heard proof Amazon contacted the CoA and GA Dept of Economic Development and they are going to be making an announcement late August or early September. There is no way they would make an expansion announcement this late in the cycle.

Ladies and Gentle Ladies - I am f'en beat because I have been at this since warlier this morning. Signing off for now!

But then it begs the questions of did they tell all 20 finalists the same thing about their planned annoucenment.

Like others have said, I think the information you're sharing is a great sign and it's appreciated, but it's still hard to get too optimistic.
