Permits for the building were filed in March of this year. They described a 75-foot tall building that will yield 184,085 square feet, with 133,450 square feet dedicated to residential use, 10,980 square feet for manufacturing space, and 10,950 square feet for a ground-floor retail space.

Tenants will have a lobby and a second-floor recreational space. A total of 199 apartments will be created, averaging 670 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Several terraces will be created for penthouse units at the top of the buildings. Below grade, parking for 146 cars and 110 bicycles will be created.

Demolition permits have not been filed, and the estimated completion date has not been announced. The permits are still pending approval.

Project: 97-18 Sutphin Boulevard (Hilton Hotel)

Jamaica is getting another new hotel with 151 rooms.

The building from company MP Hospitality will be at 97-18 Sutphin Boulevard, close to JFK Airport, according to plans filed with the Department of Buildings. It will stand nine stories tall and span about 50,000 square feet, and it will replace a one-story parking facility.

The project will be a Tru Hotel by Hilton, and it should be ready to open in about two years, according to MP Hospitality spokesperson Hemal Patel.
