Some info was added to the site plan this morning. It's 35-stories, 463' to "finished floor elevation" and has a total "building height" of 592'. It must have a substantial crown/spire.

The architect's name has not been included in any of the public info as far as I can tell.

I have hope for this being a really nice tower. But that height difference between the roof and the overall height is similar to the Fairmont. So I hope it has a large crown and not just a big stick in the air.

That's a pretty substantial difference. Does "building height" take into account subterranean parking levels?

No. This will have some sort of substantial crown and/or spire.

It appears there is a secondary lobby and elevator bank on the north side of the building along 2nd Street. Does that indicate that a portion of the building may be residential?

It's a starchitect and from what I hear we're all going to love it! Er, we don't 'all' do anything here do we? Let me say that, hopefully, most of us will love it

A new largest office building and a killer location. Block 71 will likely be completely leased up prior to coming out of the ground next year which bodes well for incoming office towers like this and Block 73. Now we just need to reelect Mayor Adler and see to it that he pushes his colleagues to go big on rail in 2020.

To add on to the rumor mill. I've heard that an existing large tech company downtown is expanding at Block 185. This is the reason why they flipped to office so suddenly.

It appears to be only office per the site plan.

Holy shit. If your comment about a starchitect is true, this will be most likely our best building in one of the most prominent locations.

I really don't want to see another spire, at least not in the way the Fairmont's spire is. Hope it's a gorgeous crown.

So I'm not sure how he can be considered a starchitect? Maybe he is for chemical plants but that kinda makes me nervous. I can see it now, huge exaust pipes and industrial decks encasing office levels, some of which exposed to the outside. I think a track record of completed iconic highrises makes one a "starchitect".

There is a good chance they will include some affordable units to meet their MDA obligations.
