They want to make it the new model office for the company going forward, so all signs point to a few months spent building in to make it a truly distinctive space. We'll see how it pans out.
Was the Lancaster Ave location half empty or...? A location in Centrebeam would be substantially smaller than the huge location on Lancaster, wouldn't it?

The Lancaster Ave. building was far too large for our needs; that was one of the principal reasons for moving.

The Centerbeam space is smaller, of course, but actually still pretty large (the permanent space, anyway; our current basement accommodations are... tight). I think the upstairs space is about 8,000 square feet? It's basically the whole length of the top floor over Canterbury St., 1 'building' deep based on the original footprints before Centerbeam joined them all together.

Here, I made a visual aid. We'll be in the blue highlighted space:

If memory serves, that's 8k square feet, compared to 13k on Lancaster Ave.

Pretty quiet around here lately. Hopefully we get some development news to share soon!

In the meantime, Offline Board Game Cafe has vacated its Rothesay Avenue space and is moving Uptown. They've apparently purchased a building at an undisclosed address on Prince William Street, and in the interim will be hosting game nights out of the Wheelhouse co-working space at the corner of Richmond and Prince Edward.

I've always thought that Offline would do better Uptown so I'm glad to hear this news.

Fischbob beat me to the Offline news haha but here are some articles related to Gahan House expanding - and a tech company expanding in Uptown.
In other related news the city is moving forward on their timeline to have the Coast Guard site prepared for the new NB Museum.

Development news has been quite recently but July and August is construction season so several of the projects we've talked about in the past should be put into action soon, like the old coast guard building closest to the boardwalk is schedule to come down this month.

I have noticed lots of construction happening in KV.
Anyone have any idea what any of it is?

My guess is the new building out by the Superstore is going to be the new Cannabis NB?

If you’re referring to the development on Hampton Road near Rothesay High, it’s the “Central Park” development: http://noreenrussell.com/centralpark/

And yes, the building by Superstore in Rothesay is the new Cannabis NB retail location.

Port Saint John CEO Jim Quinn put out this tweet regarding the old red cranes.
I wonder when the new cranes are scheduled to come.

The only way I could see them turn the Laundromat into a viable bussiness plan is it they turn it into a full service Dry Cleaning Service but then they would need at least one person for every task, and have them on rotation. If they wanted to use this as a training bussiness. But it is a positive for the Aea theyare keeping it, and it will fill up an empty strip.

Question was there not a Coffee shop, and Pizza place there at one point? Anyone know?

They've been in place for some time — a few months, perhaps. You can see a picture of the new ones (and the old ones) at https://www.sjport.com/facilities-and-operations/facility-map/. (Click the icon on the map for DP World Terminal.)

Not what he meant I think. There are two more new cranes coming. Four new cranes in total.

Here's a CTV news story on transforming the old synagogue into new Cooke Aquaculture space:
https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1400897

As for the port cranes, as SJTOKO said I'm talking about new additional cranes planned to come into port not the blue cranes.

I tend to check real estate listing ever once in a blue moon. Does anyone know what is going to happen to the Saint John East Food Bank at 105 Wilton Street.
Listing for 101-105 Wilton Street https://www.realtor.ca/Commercial/Instit...105 Wilton St. Saint-John New-Brunswick"

Also they seem to have renewed the listing for 170 Germain Street https://www.realtor.ca/Commercial/Instit...Germain-Street-Saint-John-New-Brunswick"

I do hope something nice is going to take place in these 2 location.

Thanks for the reply @kwajo

I had a hunch that the new Cannabis NB was what that might have been, that or a new drive-thru of some sorts.

The other development I am talking about is along Millennium Drive. I see there is a new pad thats been poured next to OK Tire as well as they are cutting into the trees further down towards the Superstore and starting to excavate.

Any Idea what this is going to be - Somerset Street

Does anyone know what this is going to be in Millidgeville? It' used to be a bakery i believe next to the Shell Station on Somerset.

It looks to have a drive thru window as well.

Thanks

Regarding the cranes: according to the article SJTOKO linked, the second set of two larger cranes is due to arrive in 2021, at the completion of work to extend the terminal berth and container handling space. It could be that removing the old cranes is a necessary part of that extension work, or maybe just that it simply makes sense to remove them sooner rather than later.
