^^I wouldn't go that far yet, but it finally has made some good progress.

^LOVE IT. Curious to know the details for the cantilever re: thermal bridging.

Where are those benches in Edmonton? Would love to have a coffee there next time I'm there.

I'm going to get thrown tomatoes around here but I'm going to say that Telus Sky is pretty from far but far from pretty.

I loved the renders but from up close, the cladding in between the windows just looks so cheap. The base pretty much looks like any generic mid-sized city office building until it starts to have the architectural details. I'll wait on the tower being completed before passing judgment but I find a project like Brookfield to be much nicer from up close than Telus Sky because of cladding. BIG did much better with Vancouver House IMO.

I'll agree on the cladding. I wasn't a big fan of the black panels when I saw it in-person. They do a nice job of adding contrast which accentuates the shape, but next to the high-quality glass, that same contrast can make them look a bit cheap.

I agree the cladding could be better. IMO, It's a stretch to call it for from pretty. These are some of the best angles Chad has captured too. Good job.

I wanted to get the expression in there because it does look pretty from a skyline POV I'm just really overwhelmed by the looks of it from up close. Maybe because this is a BIG project, I was expecting A1 quality on the cladding.

Just curious what you would recommend that would be better? The only real difference I see from the original proposal is a charcoal grey finish instead of white. In this pic it looks a bit dirty but that's about it. The glass with the blue film still on doesn't help either. The most amazing part of it will be the Douglas Coupland designed night time lighting feature. It should be stunning.

This is a privately built development geared towards profitability. BIG has only so much pull when it comes to that budget. I've seen the cladding up close. It's better quality than most.

I don't know, something that doesn't look like a garage sidewall. Something similar to Vancouver House like I said, looks much better (maybe someone can enlighten me on Vancouver House's cladding material). I don't believe the difference lies only in the colour...

I checked the Vancouver House thread and it looks like a similar form of panelling though I’m not sure. One key difference is the windows on Telus Sky stick out further than the wall. On Vancouver House it’s the opposite where the wall panels stick out in front of the glass.
