One of the coolest drone aerials I've seen of Austin.

Ten years ago I snapped the top pic from the uninviting I-35 pedestrian bridge; took the bottom one an hour ago. I ❤️ our evolving skyline.

Miss Austin Beauty Pageant from 1986. Check out the beginning of the video. It shows 100 Congress, One Congress Plaza, San Jacinto Center, and the Four Seasons Hotel under construction with cranes, as well as 301 Congress topped out with the last windows being installed.

Even more so if we start to see more development along the Guadalupe-Lavaca corridor between downtown and campus. At some point, developers should start pushing for 30-40 story buildings in that area. So much potential.

Here is something to add to the collection of national commercials that feature scenes shot in ATX, courtesy of Nike/Dicks Sporting Goods. The clearest one is brief, from 0:03 to 0:06, but it's got our skyline and the graffiti train bridge. And I think Frost and the Austonian show up in the background at the 0:26 mark. It could be that the whole commercial was shot in and around Austin, but the editing is too fast and I'm too lazy to slow it down and watch it all the way through in slo-mo.

The whole commercial was shot in and around Austin. Can see multiple locations such as near St. David's Hospital, Butler Park, Zilker Park, the other locations would be around the Austin area.

Pretty cool! I remember seeing a prescription drug commercial a few months ago that had some pretty shots of Austin. Also I think a pet food commercial.

There are plenty of beautiful places to live in the US. I lived in some of them, the Hudson Valley in Upstate NY, Albany, coast line of Connecticut, considered Rochester Minn, and Boise Idaho, Rockport or Port A, have friends and hung out all around and in NYC, spent time in Boston and Chicago, but that video pretty much sums up why I choose to live near Austin and will probably end my days here. What the video expresses is how much more Austin is despite the growing skyline. Its so much more than that. For the folks who are saddened by all the new construction and demolitions around downtown and lament for the 'old days', what makes Austin such a great place to live was really never all about that. Businesses, venues, restaurants...they come and go. But the beauty and quality of life in Austin is displayed very nicely in the video and downtown is only part of the equation. How much of a part is up to the observer. For me, maybe 30%. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific video! It shows the true Austin that I know and love: welcoming, safe, humble and growing. When I hear a wannabe politician play on the exclusionist "for Austinites that are here today" mindset I know to work hard at helping whoever the other side of that race is. Austin--"For all"
