Still a very strong rumour from an excellent source that a grocery store is going on the third level of Brunswick square. Baubles has moved downstairs, Tim Horton’s is moving to the old Starbucks location and booster juice is apparently moving as well. Also, Starbucks is going into the delta with outside access from king street. We’ll see!

It's about time uptown had a proper grocery store again, what with its resurgence in popularity as a location to settle and the redevelopment of a lot of old properties into higher-density apartments and condos.

Wait, holy crap... did they frame that in less than a week? I swear it was just a concrete slab when I drove by there on Saturday.

I'll also echo that reaction, I swear it was barely a slab just a few days ago! Tim's is really getting series about this "fast food" business.

I heard a rumour that Starbucks will be opening in the lobby of the new Irving Oil headquarters. Can anyone substantiate that?

I think it's pretty safe to say that Tims here would be able to have 24/7 service if it wanted to...though I have a feeling it'd only be between 5AM-11PM each day, except for Christmas, where they'd probably close no later than 8PM, and re-open at either 5AM or 6AM on Boxing Day.

=P

I'm not sure, when I asked about ground floor retail opportunities to help liven the street presence of the building during their so-called community "consultation", they seemed pretty adamant that it was an Irving Oil-only building. I guess it could have changed, or your rumour could be describing a lobby kiosk for employees only, that would seem to fit their model better.

Heard somewhere (can't remember source for the life of me) that Starbucks was looking to open up a storefront location on King Street. I thought I'd heard it was going to be Brunswick Square, though that doesn't seem right based on them having left there in the first place....

I was by the mall on Friday and saw that they had begun work... I'm honestly more interested in the doorway renovation than Marshall's; looks like the latter is basically just a reface of the former Sobeys facade.

East Point Shopping

I was sad to see Randy's in the East Point Shopping centre go, but today, I saw a large delivery truck unloading boxes into the former store so, hopefully, a new store will soon be replacing Randy's. Anyone got any idea on what it might be?

Randy closed in 2010.... 8 years ago. It has been a Psuedio and then Wicker Emporium up until just 4 days ago. Why do people from Saint John have to go so far back when describing something? I find it strange, and beyond confusing. Especially since new people do move into the city all the time. How are they supposed to know of a location in question based on a small store that closed forever ago?
