If the setbacks are lit at nite then the south side should have the more desirable viewes of the skyline!

in a residential building this large aren't there issues with individual apartments getting enough light? won't a lot of the apartments have bedrooms/bathrooms/kitchens with very little natural light coming in?

Short answer is no. The floorplates are not actually that large. The parts of this building with office building sized floor plates aren't actually that large but are bowed out due to the parking garage.

Exactly what Kumdog said. As for the remainder of the tower above the parking garage, keep in mind that much of the center is taken up by the elevator core. The residences are in effect wrapped around this core (and the hallways that surround it), and as such there really won't be any rooms that wont have any windows or natural light, save some closets or hall baths.

Photo taken today. Phase II can't come soon enough to cover up that garage. Until then I'll take it! This tower is going to be great. The view as you drive in from the south, south west, and west will be awesome.

Guys,

I'm pretty sure it's been asked fairly recently but I can't seem to locate it so I apologize in advance...

What is the status of the other tower of this development? Approved? Slated to be built after the completion of this tower?

Please fill me in..

Thanks!

Which means there are still some formalities because of re-design and the lakefront protection ordinance I believe.

So the design for the second tower which was essentially a replica of the one that's currently being built is officially scrapped? If so, are we expecting that the redesign will be taller than this one? Do we know anything?

I didn't say that and It wasn't really designed. You saw a visual placeholder that may or may not become reality. We may get something totally different.

We know nothing yet.

The design was always just a placeholder, I believe. The second tower will be taller and have a condo component.

Yeah, the design for 2GP has never really been formalized as of yet. There have been many placeholders, including one that looked like an exact replica of OGP (NEMA), but a bit taller. (I remember talk of it being in the low 900's)

Here is an earlier design from Pappageorge Haymes:
