Don’t forget the other features you’ll get when living in the Beltline. Lol.

- dodging puddles of vomit on the sidewalk
- walking on the other side of the street to avoid crack dealers
- summer nights of drunkards yelling at the top of their lungs
- routing stabbings
- police sirens all the time
- trips out to the burbs anytime you want to buy something at a reasonable price
- panhandlers asking you for spare change
- getting propositioned by prostitutes
- every third vehicle being some loud jackass who removed their muffler

- Expansive views, above 15th floor for this is key.
- Sunrise views! Rockies views!
- Floor to ceiling windows, corner unit, more windows the better.
- Quality cocktail bars (love Proof!)
- Easy access to both rivers by foot and bike!
- Easy access to Mission!
- Easy access to work!
- Easy access to 17th

Literally, the only thing I will miss in Marda Loop is the easy access to highway 8 getting out of the city.
Like the above said... EACH TO THEIR OWN.

ps...I will be adding more (new) construction updates soon.

I'm fine with personal posts. If people didn't go off topic occasionally this forum would be nearly completely dead.

We used to live on 12th Ave and 7th St SW. It’s pretty quick to get out of Beltline heading west.
Opt 1: head west down 10th ave to 11th street and up to Bow to Crowchild south. You get your own lane from the on ramp going south and enter Crowchild south of the bridges.
Opt 2: Take 10th ave west to Bow Trail all the way to Sarcee.

Going west was always the easiest route anywhere when we lived there.

Never happens (You’re scared of bees too aren’t you?)
- summer nights of drunkards yelling at the top of their lungs
Never happens
- routing stabbings
Never happens
- police sirens all the time
Happens everywhere all over the city
- trips out to the burbs anytime you want to buy something at a reasonable price
There’s plenty of places to shop at the same prices as everywhere else and you don’t pay for gas and vehicle costs to get there
- panhandlers asking you for spare change
Never happens
- getting propositioned by prostitutes
Never happens
- every third vehicle being some loud jackass who removed their muffler
Rarely happens and happens everywhere all over the city
You’ve never been north of Anderson or south of McKnight have you?

I've been dating someone who lives 1 block off 17th ave for a while now so I'm in the Beltline a lot more often than I used to be. I think there's some true in Big Grizzly's post but it's a bit exaggerated.

My experiences:

Don’t forget the other features you’ll get when living in the Beltline. Lol.

- dodging puddles of vomit on the sidewalk
I see a dried puddle about once a week in the general area of 17th ave
- walking on the other side of the street to avoid crack dealers
Haven't experienced this
- summer nights of drunkards yelling at the top of their lungs
By 17th ave certainly
- routing stabbings
I had to check the news, but I guess there's been a few since New Years?
- police sirens all the time
More than the burbs, but again it depends where in the Beltline
- trips out to the burbs anytime you want to buy something at a reasonable price
True, but that's like a 15 minute drive a week to get groceries
- panhandlers asking you for spare change
Always
- getting propositioned by prostitutes
Never experienced this
- every third vehicle being some loud jackass who removed their muffler
More like once in a while a loud Harley goes by, but I experience that in Mt Pleasant as well being near Centre and 16th ave
For me personally the only negatives of the Beltline is the general noise level (but it's better the more west you go), and panhandlers.

I’ll give within a block of 17th for noise and 11/12th for sirens, usually ambulances heading to the Sheldon Chumir but a lot of Beltline is surprisingly quiet for a dense area.

Yes. It's a common lie that more people in Europe rent, so they must like it. That's confusing correlation and causation, and is a defeatist attitude. Of course they'd rather be able to afford to buy a house than not. Let's use policy here to ensure housing remains affordable to buy, not make it so expensive that the only remaining option is to rent.

At some point people are going to be asking for an investigation into why the city ever proceeded with plans to develop the golf course when they've known since 1959 that the area is not suitable for high density.
