It would surprise me a little if they got away putting this up?

This few blocks has turned into an area of $3000 a foot towers, not sure how this fits into that paradigm.

Or is the business plan to piggy back off the area premium with a B grade tower to increase margin?

That tower is not meant to be highlight of the area. It is a filler that will bring enough height and height variation to the area.

I'll bet the conventional design will provide more useable floorplates than other iconic towers.

I agree with both comments above, but we also know that the land alone cost over $70 million.

Why pay premium for a filler tower unit when icons are going up all around?

Cooper park extension

Article on the park and how the city is looking at options to expand it

https://urbanyvr.com/coopers-park-yaletown-expansion/amp

What I find really interesting and funny is how the city says that the space underneath Cambie bridge provides for a great opportunity, quote "developing under the bridge provides cover from the weather and the possibility for year-round use in a uniquely urban environment”

Odd how that somehow doesn't apply when it comes to the viaducts.

That's how this City rolls. Statements can totally contradict each other but I don't think they care, as long as their demands, many nonsensical, are met. Oh wait, did I just describe the current White House?

Isn't the second crane needed to add the booms on the first one?

The first of what I presume will be two cranes at the site is now up.

Never thought I'd see that many cranes in my life in the West End.

While I welcome the change, but I do hope the character of the West end doesn't change too much. I hope it becomes a nicer version of the West End, not another Yaletown clone.
