No no no... if your skyline doesn't look like the middle of a Michael Bay special effect 'sposion than it sucks. And also remember the overriding philosophy of most people on this board. Until Denver duplicates what every other city does with themselves it will never be unique.

I hope this is a raging success.

From the very beginning the Dairy Block has been one of my favorite projects and with a little help from the Governor it's looks like they're executing the finishing touches very well.

Denver having a flashier skyline and Denver being a unique city are in no way mutually exclusive. If relying on mediocre, low-budget architecture is the only way Denver can express any characateristic that sets us apart from other cities, then it is clear we have already lost the battle in our bid to remain unique and, furthermore, we're just shooting ourselves in the foot at this point.

"Not having an impressive skyline with standout buildings and illumination is what makes us unique!" is a sad and self-defeating argument that achieves nothing at the cost of spiting ourselves with a bland architectural aesthetic.

I really can’t see the argument that adding lights will demean the character of the city. Building great walkable urban neighborhoods with art, unique stores and restaurants, and urban vibes are what makes a city unique. Adding great architecture and urban skyline lights are a way to take pride in your city, a way of showing off and proving your city is better.

The parking lot at 15th and California/Welton is being closed off. Hopefully, that means that the Block 162 office tower start is imminent.

The new office building at Josephine and 3rd Ave. in Cherry Creek has broken ground.

Not a classification yard, but a small overflow yard for local customers including the grain elevator, Ardent Mills, Rocky Mountain Recycling, and also where Union Pacific stores tank cars loaded with Molten Sulfer.

But yeah, it's probably the yard you're thinking of...

That is a cool shot! I walked by Block 162 today and everything if fully fenced off. I imagine they break ground this week. What do you guys think the percentage chance is that El Jebel and Two Tabor break ground this year?

Construction equipment is on sight today. Excavator and what looks to be a piling rig.

No screwing around now.
