The changes to those logos versus the original integrated logos is criminal.

The City's anti-corporation stance on practically everything is driving the insane signage restrictions you see on the downtown buildings. Check out Cathedral Place some time and see how long it takes before you can find Lawson Lundell's signage.

Seriously, I've worked on a couple of downtown buildings and have first-hand experienced the "stick it to the man" attitude of the city about corporate signage on towers.

Deloitte's is that way because it's 'temporary' until they move to their new building.

Bentall/Candarel would have had approval rights over the sign but clearly they didn't seem to care of the aesthetics.

The new finish on Cannacord is so much brighter and crisper than the older finish. That had a utilitarian, 70s look to it. This lightens things up no end. Will change the CBD ambience, IMO

May clash with the lighting feature (?)
At least the pike/vertical bar after Canaccord doesn't line up with a lighting stripe.

While they aren't that wide to be that prominent, they are quite bright compared to any other exterior lights downtown.

I think Leftcoaster said they were burning them in and the intensity won't be as bright later on.

They will be tested over the coming months to find a light level that is still prominent while not obnoxious.

The lights were actually turned on when you took that pic to determine where to turn the lights strips off to ensure they don't clash with the sign.

My guess is they are turned off in the area currently covered in the mesh. Seems like a sensible box-out to me.

I noticed this driving over the Granville street bridge. And i thought wouldn't it have been really nice if they had done this in the same type of glazing as the manulife building on Howe!

that glass is just way too clear. looks a mess already and there are only 5 floors showing. i cant imagine the heat coming in the windows is pleasant for anyone sitting on the south side. my office has clear, south facing windows and no one actually leaves the blinds up, they are always down either all the way, or 90% of the way. 1 reason is for heat, another reason is for privacy. and this is a "LEED Gold" building. the desks on the South routinely get up to 35 C with the blinds closed and HVAC on.

Not a fan. There were 4 options for glass tint and they chose condo green for some reason.

Count me as a fan of the clear glass, both from an architectural and user experience perspective. Vancouver is dark enough naturally for half the year - I don't want a tint making things even more gloomy than they have to be (Granville Square is particularly bad for this).

Love the project overall - turning probably the dowdiest office tower in the city into one of the most crisp. Who's the architect?
