With the new 1000 employee TD Bank corporate office complex occupying the old Sears space, the West 49 location might be a good spot for a couple of food/coffee shops to set up. In particular, it would seem a great space for Starbucks to relocate to.........

I think that there would be plenty of empty leaseholds in the Trinity Drive area for West 49 could go and I was thinking just as a pipe dream when Costo relocates to Granit Drive why not West 49 get that spot to do a mega store/ Skate Park. That is what i am thinking.

I must agree with MonctonRad, the DC location of Cabela's is ugly and looks like an afterthought, our Moncton store was much nicer.

1. That's a great thought, Starbucks would fit nicely in front of the new TD Bank space.
2. CF needs to bring a new real sit down restaurant in the mall fast, it will cater to these new people coming in January 2019.
3. The new Roots looks nice, it's similar to the new store design found at Yorkdale. Nice addition.

I wonder if something happened with Envy's plans to move into the old Coach location at Champlain Place.

For quite a while, the floor plan for the mall indicated Envy in that location, but at present the floor plan only shows the location as being "vacant"..........

I finally ate at Pur & Simple in Plaza 1909 on Mountain Road today. Good meal but the place was absolutely packed and there was a line-up to get in shortly after we arrived. They're definitely making a killing.

I mentioned this to my server and she agreed. She said that the management are already looking at setting up a second location, probably in the Champlain Place area in the not too distant future.

Cora's had better watch out - Pur & Simple has legs.........

I wonder if they will try to get into 40 Champlain Street.

The Paul Street location of Wicker Emporium is closing as part of their creditor protection filing. The other metro location at the Mapleton Centre will apparently remain open.

I was driving by last night and it looks like some work is going on next to the Nissan dealership. I know at some point the plan was to add an additional dealership (Infiniti or Mitsubishi were mentioned I think), is that still on the books? It could also be they are just getting it ready to either expand their parking lot for Hyundai/Nissan or to make some green space.

Edit: Drove by again and they are definitely building. The ground is surveyed and there's an Acadian Construction sign up next to Wheeler

I imagine you're right. The part of the property they are going to be building on is right next to Wheeler Blvd. This is a high profile spot and I'm sure this is where they would stick their Infiniti dealership.

I'm confused:

There is a large "store closing" banner up at the West 49 location at Champlain Place, yet, at the same time, there is a job advert on Indeed.com for an assistant manager for West 49 (at the Champlain Place location) that is only six days old.

https://ca.indeed.com/jobs?q=Retail&l=Moncton%2C%20NB&fromage=last&start=70&vjk=eb73cfa311904c79

Does this mean that this is a store relocation rather than a store closing????

I feel like it’s a relocation, with the sears space soon to be occupied by TD, I think the mall and west 49 probably felt it was better to move to a better location.

That will leave a large section of empty store fronts.
