If the final livery is white, it would be excellent for the graffiti artists to turn into a mobile gallery

Not really a fan of the low floor LRTs because of the big boxes in the carriage to accommodate the wheels
(and steps up to seats over those wheels).

Hhmmm make of that what you will. Still, don't have a definitive answer on that or do we?

I really hope that is just very poorly worded, if they don't have strong signal priority it will be time to get out the pitch forks. I am trying not to hate the King George /104TH LRT (note the Fraser hwy line better be Skytrain) but not having strong singal priority would be a deal breaker....that stupid intersection at King George/104th is not helping either. That will be the choke point for the whole line, add a couple hundred million extra to the 1.65 billion and deal with it.

Thanks for sharing. It's a very short survey and would encourage everyone interested in providing input to how regional transportation is built here to spend 5 minutes to put in their two cents.

I rated the necessity of the Surrey LRT line as "moderate" because I feel that at-grade LRT is a poor, short-sighted solution for mobility in Surrey. I strongly feel that it's the worst of both worlds - it will cost close to a grade separated system but perform (in terms of speed, frequency and passenger volumes) close to a much cheaper bus rapid transit system with dedicated lanes.

In all seriousness, I just sent my comment as well.

I am not against the Newton LRT, but I highly recommend that if they are going to invest this much money into the project, at least tunnel the short segment between King George Station and Surrey Central Station, where the alignment is a complete mess in its current proposed forms.

Also, it seems that they have committed themselves to LRT for Langley. This was done very sneakily IMO. It slowly went from "future rail transit" to a mix of that term and "LRT" to it straight out being labelled as "LRT along Fraser Highway."

I am quite angry that there were no true public consultations or open houses regarding this Line's technology choice.

We really need to speak up against this now.

Even if they do “public consultations”, they will be meaningless as they already decided the path they’re taking. They seem to brush the criticisms from their shoulders from people pointing out obvious flaws of the Surrey LRT (no grade separation on the KGB-104 Ave intersection, Surrey-Langley being LRT and not SkyTrain etc).

The scarier ones are the ones who DO see the LRV and try and fail to beat it... or if they do, they get creamed by the one coming in the other direction. This isn't Frogger people, trains don't brake as fast as cars and buses do.
