A few pictures of Freddy and SJ during the
Great Flood of 2018.
My son and I did a road trip from Moncton to Freddy today to view the flooding. Since the river is over the TCH at Jemseg, we had to detour via Saint John, making the trip about 240 km (one way).
We stopped off at the Reversing Falls in Saint John along the way:
I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Reversing Falls in Saint John, but through this narrow gorge (and rapids) passes all the water collected in the Saint John River basin (encompasses half of northern NB and most of northern ME. The Saint John is the second largest river on the North American eastern seaboard between the St. Lawrence and Mississippi Rivers (only the Susquehanna is larger). The water flow right now is incredible with quite an audible roar. The river is so high right now that the reversing falls no longer reverses.......
Some photos from Fredericton:

This last image shows the landing at the base of the walking bridge over Ste. Anne's Point Drive, the riverfront boulevard in front of downtown Fredericton. Normally this connects to the riverfront trail, but the trail is completely submerged (as is Ste. Anne's Point Drive). This photo is also good for showing the flood waters infiltrating into the margins of the downtown core of the city.
