Seriously though, on FB, Mayor Arnold stated that although the Subway would be brightly coloured, she thought pink would be "unlikely" for the colour of the Subway, but you never know.........

The pink phase was fun. I helped paint one of the panels way back in the day with Ronnie "The Little General" Bourgeois broadcasting live on CKCW- AM radio from the scene.
But IMO the pink is passe. Perhaps a lighter shade of grey would be preferable. But this time I won't be painting any of the panels.

I remember Woolworths being where ALC is now, It was a great store. Zellers was right beside Woolworths. as a 5 to 8 year old in the 70's both had awesome gumball machine inside each store

Orange would certainly be preferable to pink........

I vote safety orange or international orange, should be bright enough for people not to hit it!!

I still remember the Woolworth My mom worked at the Met across the street. I can't for the life of me remember Zellers ever being there. It must have been before they opened in the Superstore building.

I would agree with you if drivers where that smart.

I was actually talking to a few city employees I know, and they tend to pick up more vehicle parts then we the people are notified about. The Supervisor actually stated 2 of the cities biggest mistakes on Main Street where the Subway, and of course Jones lake the latter hopefully no longer being a problem.

Before anyone says anything the employees consider Causeway as a Riverview/Salisbury Rd Mess up.

Zellers was on the next corner going towards city Hall at the light. I believe, Palace Grill was directly across the street.

It was next to the Met, and Yes Palace Grill was right across from Woolworths I remember that at least because my mom would go on lunch break from the Met, and my dad would take us kids downtown once a week we would go to Palace Grill. I was sad to see it close.

Welcome to Moncton This is how people are here, and it's not only non moving inanimate objects either. Get rearended at a red, and see how the other driver reacts.

As a very young man I ran the cafe at The Met, as well as the luggage and lingerie departments. I made $1.15/hour, not including overtime, which was unpaid.
Swimming pools..... movie stars........

We had a monkey in the front window in a cage. Because Zellers had one. We put the receptionist's name on the cage: "Hi! My name is ......." She was not amused. The receptionist, that is, the monkey didn't seem to be bothered by the name.

It really wasn't that long ago since this building was completely renovated, so I'm not sure what precipitated the recladding, but I presume an issue like leaking and moisture control.......

In any event, the new facade will be modern and should work nicely with the new arena across the street.

Here's a rendering of what the building will eventually look like:

According to a T&T article, the work will be complete by December, and when done, the total number of federal civil servants in the building will increase to 1150 from 982.

1111 Main street is looking to turn there main level into a restaurant, and Cafe.
The restarant side will have the planter, and concrete/brick wall removed, and an all glass sunroom added in, and the Cafe will have a patio replacing the planter bed. Not sure if they already have tenants chosen but this is there plans.

They've had those plans for well over a year, maybe several years but nothing ever comes of it.
