Work platform at 609 Granville came down last night, exposing the 24th floor. I think it the standard sized floor and spandrel look even better than the larger oversized floor and spandrel above, but I am a bit biased.

Starting to get a sense of the overall look.
The "between floors" spandrel with the fritt definitely give a softer look to the striping than the old cladding.
Not sure if I like the opaque panel on the corner
(it doesn't have the fritt of the spandrel, so just appears as a border, rather than wrapping around the corner (which the chamfer/bevel favours),
but it's not a substantive border (material-wise like on Royal Tower or the Bentalls)
- conceivably it could have been built out with a 3D panel to be more substantive)

The new cladding will sit in stark contrast to the elevator core of the Four Seasons Hotel next door (until it is reclad(?))

Ah, the new cladding is looking alright. Not stellar, but alright. It's definitely going to change the look and certainly brighten up the place. It looks better darker IMO, but I'm sure it will turn out sleek. I dig the light feature and the gradient on the striping.

Thanks for the pics. I think it looks good so far. I actually like the treatment on the corner as it accents the building nicely. The beveled corner was imperceptible before anyway. Either way, a nice upgrade to a very tired facade.

A store manager in Philadelphia made a racist decision. If you're naive enough to think that that can then be used to label an entire company, good for you.

Definitely take a look in person next time you're downtown. OD's photo is taken through another window and from distance so a lot of the detail is lost.

It has a very crisp modern look in person. I was somewhat excited about this reclad before but having seen the second floor revealed I think it is going to exceed my expectations.

Just the reflection through dirty glass. Like I said the pic really doesn't capture how crisp the new cladding looks, definitely take a look next time you're downtown.

I can't get good pics through TD Tower glass
- it's also coated with a plastic UV film on the inside.

not too much of a fan how clear it is. you can see walls and furniture inside. ive always been a fan of mirrored glass for office towers to hide all that stuff.

but still better then the original, that's for sure.

Four Seasons is vacating its downtown hotel property on January 31, 2020, according to the hotel's GM Martin Sinclair. Curious to see what happens with this real estate -- a tower with retail/restaurant at the base, connected to a downtown mall.
