It`s probably a good thing Yonge is so dark. It allows people to not see the whole street which is a blessing as Yonge is such a dump.

Especially not that stretch of Yonge. It's a far cry from Yonge and Wellesley.

Yonge Street needs a lot of work. No denying.

Hopefully they can give it the Queens Quay treatment. That would be so nice. Give the street the capacity to deal with the pedestrian traffic thats on it. However even after a beautification project the street will still be dark, and more towers, very big towers coming.

Yonge is an eclectic mix including dumpy properties. It's one of the few streets that doesn't have overhead wiring with utilitarian, rusty or, rotting poles. We can never forget gentrification is full steam ahead in the form of massive towers.

I don't recall seeing so many drill rigs on a site that size.

I was just in Edmonton and finallygot to see the new arena and the Ice District. The arena looked massive in person. Nice quality too. The surrounding areas are obviously ready for redevelopment. Still pretty rough looking north of it. I was impressed by the Marriott and the curved glass corners. Never got to see Stantec up close. I did notice the ugly louvers though.

The stretch of lower Yonge from Front to Shuter is not dumpy at all, IMO. Lots of large, multi-storey solidly built buildings with nice architectural detailing and a big city feel. Stand on the corner of Yonge and King and the last thing that comes to mind is that it's a "dump".

I like the bits of Yonge that are an urban canyon in shade. It's the other bits north of Dundas that need work.

Fingers crossed for how the apartment building on top will look.

Hopefully like the Four Seasons Hotel as it did in renderings.
