i don't think those fit in with the building style too well, no offence. being an art-deco style building i think something more these lines would fit in.
different size so as not to take away from the ceiling, though. i do think lights shining up from the crown moulding, hidden on-top of it, would be good to shine at the ceiling.

the bar light is a nice fixture, you can tell by the fittings, it marries the new tower which is sleek with the old building, it works well
it would work if it was in a different area of the lobby. that elevator lobby of the original building has no new aspects to it, except the light; it was maintained to its original grandeur. the bar light stands out a lot for being out of place with that area; its a bit too jarring for the elevator lobby. the benefit of art deco is that it generally has sleek, clean lines but with a little but of detailing instead of being so stark.
Agreed. Have liked this tower from its concept. A model tower for integrating new with historic.
.... and once upon a time, people balked at the new design, which replaced an angular-patterned building with a green zig zag and an angular roof. Times change!

Office demand in Vancouver has a different flavour now than 10 years ago, Gardner said.
“Today’s marketplace we see a number of large U.S.-based corporations entering our market for the very first time,” he said.
Credit Suisse/SwissReal Group’s Exchange tower arrived at the right time, he said.
“It has brought relief,” he said. “I know there are multiple different groups all vying for space in that building as we speak.”
The 32-storey, 370,000 sq. ft. Exchange Tower opened in November. About 250,000 sq. ft. of the tower was developed for office use, while the remaining heritage component of the redevelopment is being converted into a 202-room hotel by Executive Hotels and Resorts. The hotel is slated to open this summer.
The office component is now about 65-per-cent leased, said Mark Chambers, an executive vice-president with JLL, the leasing agency for the building.
He said, however, that the rest of the building has been spoken for on deals that have yet to complete.
“We do have paper interest in the balance of the building and could probably go beyond leasing in its entirety,” Chambers told Postmedia. “We could probably lease it almost twice.”

That must be a City requirement, as it's stupidly camouflaged against the building during the day.
In other news, this building truly ruins the feng shui of some units in the neighboring Jameson House. I couldn't imagine living in a unit all those office windows looking directly into my kitchen and living room...
The Jamieson House residents complained about the bad feng shui of the original building design, and thus demanded a redesign of the Exchange. Well, they got one.
