Not many changes but I'll post pictures anyway.



^^^^ I had a look at the walls between the units, and I don't see any double walls. Perhaps they will double up the walls between the units later. I can think of a whole host of logistical issues regarding constructing double walls, especially if there is drywall on one or both of the inside surfaces (as shown in the diagram in a previous post). Right now there does not appear to be any drywall being installed, but they are doing the plumbing and wiring.

Man, looks like the hotel and parkade are progressing really well. Would be nice to see a similar pace on the condo. I am growing impatient! Thanks for the pics.

It looks like tonnes of progress on all fronts! Now that height has plateaued, you've got to look a bit closer to see all the work that's being done on the condo. But then, if you've bought a unit, of course it'll never be fast enough until you get your bed into it! Cheers!

And thanks for the pics! For me, the changes are big. Two floors of the hotel are now ready for siding. The 3rd/4th floor of the condo is getting glass. The pit is deepening and widening.

Not much happening? Okay. But don't say that to the workers!>)

...And instead of doubling up thinner walls, can't they just make outer walls (studs) thicker? Like going from 5 to 10 cm, or 10 to 20? That's what I thought they'd be doing between units and for hallways, and that's what it looks like to me on this project.

Whatever. I just know whatever they do (builders), it usually works. High-rises are pretty silent from my experience. It's just so cool to live in a high-rise condo...with a cabin at the lake, of course!>)

Then again, we're all lucky just to be alive. Sorry to hear about the hockey players.

Two thin walls with studs that do not make contact is far quieter than one thick wall.

Of course there is lots of progress. To me the next big milestone will be some siding on the hotel. Ledcor construction seems to be consistently working on weekends on the parkade excavation, which is getting gigantic. But now that the condo has topped out we're not going to be seeing a new floor per week. Until the office starts rising

^^^^ It will be quite a sight if the north tower, which will be significantly taller than the condo, ever gets built. I really do feel that downtown is on the cusp of a renaissance, with the BRT, potential arena, potential grocery store, etc.

Also, like you were saying Alt, awesome view once that tall one gets poured in the back. But then, I just had a vision of these guys building that original-height 27 (or 28) story condo on this 'leftover' site instead of an office building (if there's no interest for big-digs within a certain time), and throw Trivost(sp) a bone by helping them with RL2. Just a thought to speed things up if necessary;>) There's not a restaurant, pub or new grocery store downtown that would shake a stick at that! Prost!

[Too bad Cameco has no balls or pride. (Ah, give em a raise, anyway!) Does Mosaic have offices here? Nuff said n done! ~But hopefully the 2nd office tower does find a major tenant.]

I am tooting my own horn, but I am telling you all that the River Landing Parkade is the NICEST looking appearance wise that I have EVER seen. It is well lit and bright and not a BLEMISH on the entire interior walls, columns and roof.

I did some take offs last week of the River Landing East tower. I have almost 330,000 sq ft between the parkade and tower component. Each Parkade level is approx 32,652 sq ft!

Yes new parkades are nicer than old parkades. They are usually painted white inside and have lots of energy efficient lighting. They do get dirtier and banged up after a few decades.

2nd tower crane (the one down in the hole) at the office parkade should be getting erected tomorrow. Foundations to start next week, though there will still be excavation work happening as they work their way out of the hole.

They've been digging down for 4 months, now we get to watch it start to rise.

I was hoping to see 3 cranes on site. Even if the height is minimal and 3 wont be around long..be cool to see for a little bit though with all on site working at the same time. Might as well get the 'rare' photograph lol

I would imagine that this underground lot will attract many who work near by etc.; thus, creating 'competition' for the many nearby lots. I hope that this competition (which people will of course prefer to an outdoor parking lot that's exposed to the elements) will create some pressure to develop more quickly.

Once again all beautiful pictures Alt!I am kind of surprised that the hotel windows arn't all done yet they must be taking some time to manufacture. seems like they did about a third then stopped for a few weeks then did another third.

^^^^ They are excavating a very steep wall into the dirt on the west side. Its hard to get a good look at it but I think there are some anchors in the dirt wall.
