Yes and no. As PEI's population increases it's being realized entirely within Queens County (Charlottetown CA, effectively). PEI has increased by 16K in the past 16 years and Queens has increased by 18K in that same timeframe, meaning Charlottetown is where PEI is growing. Queens County (central PEI) likely hits 100K by the next Census in 2021.
Queens' population has moved from 72K to 90K in StatCan estimates from 2001 to 2017.
In terms of the future, the Government of PEI is estimating the island will hit 200K in the 2050s if current immigration and birth/death rates continue. International immigration to PEI increased tenfold in 2007/2008 and has been the main source of growth in the past decade.
