North 53 (10240 124 St) is closing as of tomorrow:

Daily bite: Celebrated Edmonton cocktail bar, North 53, to close March 31
Restaurateur Kevin Cam is closing North 53 to focus on new projects

https://eatnorth.com/dan-clapson/daily-b...ton-cocktail-bar-north-53-close-march-31

But fear not - I've been told by staff there that a an updated version of this will reopen closer to the Oilers arena/Ice District, on 124 St. in the same building as the Blue Plate Diner (or near there anyway, as I'm unsure of the details now - feel free to either confirm or refute).

^ That looks amazing.

I tried Blaze pizza on 104 ave today for lunch.

1-medium meat eater...

Pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onion, mozzarella, red sauce.

14.00 bucks.....It was just ok. Didnt knock my socks off. It lacked (Taste). Maybe better ingredients...cheese etc.

6.5 Pepperoni out of 10.

Whoops, my bad... the text didn't seem to copy over.

This was Pip.

Baked ricotta
Chips and dip
Short rib
Mashed and chicken
Pork belly
Mushroom orzo + chicken
Pineapple custard
Tiramisu brownie

Great service, good food if not a bit salty.

According to this article, Jollibee fast food chain has hopes of opening an Edmonton location by 2019

They currently have 2 locations in Winnipeg and one in Scarborough

Not sure I'd be sold on much more than the chicken and the pies

After trying a few Jollibee locations in SE Asia, I can say it is tasty fried chicken, but not worth waiting over 15 minutes in line for.

I have several Filipino staff, and they are somewhat indifferent to Jolibee.

They do love their Popeye's though. I've tried it... it's alright.

It's no Dixie Lee though

Glad to see that Wishbone's kept that same unique interior as MRKT did!

BTW, how was that okonomyaki compared to the real stuff in Japan, considering you've been to Japan at least a few times in the past?
