Yes, all good. Not big deal and no grudge held. Back to development discussion.

We do love to veer off topic here....

I can't believe the use of the term "Bridge and Tunnel" has spurned such a backlash.

It's a widely used term that describes people who live in the suburbs and come into the city to party on the weekends. Those people could be seen as slightly more excitable than a resident patron. This person, regardless of gender, could be heard using terms such as "bro," "brau," "Bruh,""Bro-han," or "doood" regardless of the gender of the person they may be addressing. Frequency of these words will increase commensurate with the number of drinks consumed. Ironically, the actual use of a bridge or a tunnel to access the city is a variable that is rarely focused on when identifying this person in an establishment.

I think having an issue with a term simply because it originated in NY is silly.

This entire conversation is silly. But hey...

Anyone know when Love Park will be full opened with Fountain and more landscaping? Walking through it 2 days ago, it's pretty sparse and bare - still a ton of fencing everywhere - kind of a weird vibe.

Thanks for the pics!

This is an overbuild of a mid 19th cent building. Naked Philly did a piece on it about 2 years ago http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-philly/west-poplar/renderings-for-north-broad-renovation including two very basic renderings. The second is from much the same angle as your shot.
Looks like they are making good progress.

Couldn't get a pic from the bus, but I could see that the Pod Hotel on 19th is well into excavation-possibly even u/c. (noticed what looked like foundations in the ground)

When I went by the other day it appeared they had 2 drilling rigs on site to dig for columns. They previously excavated most or all of the site to basement level.

The new Wawa at 22nd and South opens today (I have not been there yet but saw a sign yesterday announcing it opens today). According to their website, one at 1300 Chestnut is opening this summer (this is the I Goldberg location, I assume) and one at 1102 Market (East Market) is opening in the fall.

It looks like there's something stirring on the concrete plaza in front of Temple Center City across from Dilworth. Maybe I'm just hoping hard for improvements and it's really nothing but anybody know what's going on there?

It'd be a shame to see such a beautiful part of the city messed with.

There is supposed to be another opening in the Public Ledger building across the street from independence hall. not sure when this is supposedly happening though.

A philly.com article has a couple interior renderings of the Public Ledger Wawa.

Holy shit, those fittings are looking fancy-schmancy.

Here's the list of other Wawa openings:

Quote:
- 34th and Market Streets on Drexel University’s campus in University City, slated to open in the third quarter of the year.
I would assume this is at the base of that parking garage? It's literally only two blocks from their 36th & Chestnut location, too, although that tends to have crowding problems, even when you're popping in for a hoagie at 1 AM.

I would like to see a Wawa open up closer to 30th Street, perhaps even in the station's food court, too.
Quote:
- 13th and Chestnut Streets in Center City, opening in the late third or fourth quarter.
- 12th and Market Streets in Center City, to open in the fourth quarter.
These are the East Market and I. Goldberg locations, both of which look pretty on-track for an opening later this year.
Quote:
- Harbison Avenue and Tulip in Frankford, slated for “later this year.”
Don't bet on this one. It's still just stakes in the ground.
Quote:
- Roosevelt Boulevard and Byberry Road in Byberry, also for later in the year.
First I'd heard of this one, but I don't normally find myself out Byberry way, so that's NBD.

The Versailles at 16th and Locust finally landed a commercial tenant. See permits. It's at the tail end of an extensive renovation by Alterra.

What exactly does "Personal Services" mean? Should we expect a hair salon or spa or something?
