That's a wild Edmonton shot....I love how the skyline's balanced by the Symphony tower on the left and that peak is forming in the centre. (Likely the intention by the dude who put his name in that font on the bottom)

I don't think it spandrel but something on the inside pushed against the glass. The spandrel on the tower blends well with the vision glass. I wonder why they didn't use it for the mechanical floor or, go all louvres (real or faked). I'm afraid the white thing is staying and more will come.

Toronto and Edmonton are changing so rapidly these days it's hard to keep track but both are looking awesome! I can't wait for Stantec to reach its full height this year if only to see it surpassed shortly thereafter if Aldritt/Quarters Tower goes ahead... Knock on wood!

Hardly brutal...I am looking at the eastside on a grey morning at Stantec and you can hardly see the white band surrounding the lower part of that floor. And after the tower gets occupied with floors occupied with light grey or beige open and closed blinds on every floor, I think this one floor will look rather neat and tidy in the end.
You need to stop obsessing over someone's close up shots in the bright sunlight. Someone should take some close ups of 488 University...then we can talk brutal...
True. It's not much better at 488. There was a greater attempt to incorporate and are strategically place on the north and west sides. IMO, they picked the worst spots on Stantec.

They did. There are much better ways to incorporate or hide mechanical openings. This looks like something you'd see on the side of a suburban office park
