I'd have to ask my wife... LOL. It's not bok choy though. Ya it's a mini greenhouse, with a detachable roof.

We have 2 medium sized Veg Trugs:

They are pretty cool. We start stuff indoors (from seeds) and then they either go on to the balcony or the rooftop. My wife does all the work of course, I just haul dirt.

Nice, I didn't think it was on legs, but I guess that's why it's at railing height.

The Creek by Concert

We received this in the mail today.

With Navio north and south almost complete, I'm confused as to why "Building 5" hasn't even been started. Is there some surprise here, or some amendment they are looking to get from the City?

That would be cool if they've redesigned it.

It's at the forefront of the project, so it's a nice location for a "landmark" building.

They call it a "landmark" and will "introduce you to the building concept" in the mail-out
and the Phase 3 building depicted below doesn't scream "landmark" to me.

Note that the image you show is only a massing image. The actual design of Navio is quite a bit different from the depiction. The DP design for the final building hasn't been seen yet. We'll presumably get a better idea at the April event.

I've never seen a mailer like this, so vague, yet inviting "the community". It would appear that they are trying to give people warning or butter them up for some changes... my view is already shot unless it's substantially taller than Voda or Navio.

Went to the CoV open house back then for the Creek and suggested retail along 1st Avenue, and even made them a sketch! They totally ignored it I suppose. For this, I hope they can get a cue from what is happening across the creek and add some retail units to the new building at the northeast corner. Would be nice for people on the seawall and visitors going to Science World to make use of retail/food & beverage facilities nearby. Currently the area is way too sterile, and even the CRUs along Main is doing poorly due to a lack of retail continuity.

Maybe the landmark building will include an underground mall! They could even have glass ceilings under False Creek to watch all of the boaters dump their sewage.

Yes, Building 5 has been completely redesigned, re-imagined and rebuilt from scratch.

The massing shown was only meant as a preliminary massing that was presented through the Rezoning process. The preliminary massing for Building 5 was meet with alot of negativity(which is public knowledge) so it was inevitable that the design would change.

ZGF is the Design Architect.

@WarrenC12 Building 5 will be the tallest on of the building in The Creek. This design will maintain the views stated in the CD-1 that need to be kept.

Underground mall would be interesting for sure, but it wont be happening on this project. Water table is already difficult for the parking garage.

Yes, Landmark pricing. This will be pushing the boundary of highest price per sf on this side of the Creek...

O and you shouldn't be surprised this hasn't been started. I can telling you while not giving too much away that building 5 has had an enormous amount of effort put into this design for way to long with too many issues arising. To simplify, the City of Vancouver has become deeply interested in this project and process. They felt the developer needed to go back to a public forum so the city could get an updated feel of concerns and insight which will better direct the design and public realm of this project.

@Vin No Retail in this project. This project is following the CD-1 for The Creek. There is no retail designated for this location. Blame the planners.

I'm curious as to what the "concept" is.
If it's rounded, it would compete with Science World.

I could see a taller building there being a bridge between Opsal and CityGate.

Thanks for the detail, I think you have me interested enough to attend the open house.

As for the mall, it was making fun of a forumer with a well known opinion that malls solve all problems.
