Real, and really boring.

That's dramatic!

There's a building in Hull that you sometimes see the sunset *THROUGH* from various parts of downtown Ottawa in the summer. Similar "towering inferno" effect.

Wellington Street sunroof photo tour

Traffic this evening on Wellington Street was horrendous. So I decided to conduct a sunroof photo shoot of the buildings along the south side of the street as I inched along. Enjoy!

Neat. At first glance on my phone I thought it was another city.

It pays to look up! Or down! I've had "where am I" moments riding double-deckers on main streets on the weekends this spring and summer.

Golden Hour at the Chateau Laurier. Please don't build that monstrous addition.

Rideau Falls, high water

Pleasant, if bumpy, (they're always pleasant) Saturday afternoon ride.

D823011 confluence of Ottawa and Rideau rivers. Ottawa river water level is decently high for this time of year.

Just noticed that the Stone Temple Pilots' press photos were shot on Parliament Hill.

I actually like the new location for the sign. It's way better than the previous awkward location in front of the parking garage and I think it's better nestled in the Byward Market than if it were in front of boring old City Hall.

I live in the market and everytime I walk by there are always a bunch of people hanging out in the chairs, taking pictures of the sign, etc...

I was also pleasantly surprised to see they had a camp fire going, which was really a nice touch. People walking by could sit down in the Muskoka chairs around and warm up a bit, plus it also reminded me of Ottawa's heritage as a lumber town since you could smell the camp fire burning from down the street!

Agreed; City Hall would have been terrible. Much too generic.

The location has really grown on me.
