Highways in Canada

Not a highway as such, but one of the major routes into the core. The city's most infamous intersection is being reworked to function as a roundabout. Curious to see what they do with the section of Military Road that cut across the middle now that it will be closed to vehicles. There's a cafe there but kitty corner, doesn't open onto the closed section.

Looks like an interesting experiment. There do seem to be a few households on the closed off road. Will the city buy them out for a teardown, or just give local access?

*Edit* Looks like they are all part of the same block, with private basement parking entrance off of Queen street, so they would probably be fine for the most part.

Used it this past weekend. Very easy to use.

I'm glad that SK didn't take the makeshift solution of installing lights, as those are frustrating on TCH in MB (and in AB).

Yup once the Regina Bypass south leg opens Saskatchewan will have no lights along the main trunk of the TCH. There are still plenty of high risk at grade intersections along the route (Most Notably Moose Jaw) but no stopping required!

We may see that happen October this year as they are significantly ahead of schedule.

These types of intersections are awesome. I use the one in Calgary a couple times a week.

Overall, it would be nice if Canada can cheaply build modern-standard freeways in mountainous places. After all, aside from the Prairies, southern Ontario and southern Quebec, the rest seems pretty rocky.

It would be nice, but it's not cheap for anyone so why would it be cheap for us?

Yes, I drove it southbound last year and about 10 years before drove it northbound. Lots of fun to drive in with warning signs (in Italian and picture format) warning you of strong winds.
