Such a joke. Those don't even qualify as towers. Not like they are building something 400 ft or something. Is it even 10 stories? give me a fing break.

Where do you pull your report from? I dont see it on the site development map or the Denver Development Services Project Stats Report.

Good News

It doesn't get much more ho-hum than that rendering (looks like the stairwell is the signature accent on the building?) but its pretty cool to see another historic building incorporated into a development. And kudos to the developers because that isnt cheap.

I think RDS pulls it straight from the database. The other two services seem to lag on entries by a week or two.

The additional pedestrian connection across the CML and Speer are quite nice, but punching 7th St under the CML and allowing a connection to Speer would be huge from a multi-modal viewpoint.

Do you think it's one of those things where the closer it gets, the bigger the fall will be?

The original Tabor 2 actually began construction. The ensuing economic collapse resulted in no new skyscrapers in downtown Denver for like 20 years.

The second iteration never got that far. The ensuing collapse was a comparative bump in the road in terms of downtown skyscraper construction.

God help us if it ever tops out.

Elitch Gardens owners lay out development plans for 62 acres
Mar 5, 2018 By Caitlin Hendee – Associate Editor, Denver Business Journal
Quote:
A Denver-based boutique real estate firm says it's the opportunity of a lifetime — redeveloping 62 acres of land smack dab in downtown Denver.

"It's a big, big project," said Sean Duffy, Revesco's spokesperson for the project, saying it would take 25 years to fully build out. "[The area] is kind of like a doughnut hole in downtown. You have all this development going on and you have basically 50 acres of parking there."Duffy said phase one of the development would involve building a parking garage for the amusement park, which will stay put — for now.
How 'bout the amusement park?
Quote:
The development plans do not include the site of the amusement park itself.

"Elitch Gardens isn’t going anyplace for the foreseeable future," Duffy said. "It is an opportunity to, in a more sustainable way, utilize what's now surface parking ... to complete a new neighborhood for downtown."
So the first exciting phase involves the challenge of building a parking garage. Woot woot.

That's awesome. Blocks from Union Station! Light rail! Giant arena on site! Two professional sports teams! Unique amusement park next door! River views, city views, mountains views. Awesome. AMAZON IS GOING TO LOVE IT!!!

And if you know Jeff Bezos the way I know Jeff then you realize that all employees get Season Passes to Elitch Gardens. All along the plot has been to pump up business for the Gardens.

Now that would be a yuge boon for Elitch Gardens!!

Oh btw just think of all the density you could do on 2/3rd of most all parking seas of large local venues!

The video on their homepage appears to have been filmed sometime in the September/October time frame from last Fall.....

Hmmmm.................

I'm no betting man, but Jesus that video looks aimed directly at Amazon, especially when they are trying to address housing affordability issues we have.

That seems like an incredibly weird location for that height and mass.

Now I really know we're at the end of the market cycle when Tabor 2 and 18th & Market are still active proposals being discussed and tower proposals are sprouting up left and right in Arapahoe Square..
