And just for the fun of it, the site to the east of the Seymour ramp. It's not part of the project but it's obviously being used for parking, storage and whatever.

I noticed that view the other day, and hoped that someone with a more serious camera would shoot it - thanks for making my dreams come true! ;-)

Great set of shots!

I see this building every day, it looks so different from every angle. Very cool.

I took the Horseshoe Bay-Nanaimo ferry this weekend, and this building is beginning to have a major impact on the skyline from that direction already. It is going to be very prominent from the ferry.

Thanks. I have a $99 point and shoot camera. A little Sony DSC-W830 that I got on a clearance sale at Shoppers Drugmart a few years ago. In fact, I actually got it for free because I redeemed some points.

Nice one, mcminsen! Where did you take that one? Any place with public access?

Thanks, I was on King Edward Boulevard in the Arbutus Ridge neighbourhood on the West Side when I took the picture I posted above. I then wandered further east and bit south to find set of steps with a really clear view near Puget Drive and West 29th Avenue but by then the ridge in front of the skyline rises higher and the view starts to get cut off from the bottom up (second last pic below). You could probably spend a couple of hours wandering that area trying to find a clear vantage point but it's a real challenge because there are so many things in the way like poles and fences and those darn big houses with all the huge glass windows and decks to take in the million dollar view.

Nice pics. Love the angle in that first shot. Similar to whatnext's pic but from a lower elevation.

My guess is that there are 2 or 3 more floor plates before they become perfect rectangles. In the last pic below you can see that the edge of the topmost visible floor plate still has a series of setbacks across the width.
