I always hated Hedley.

The only silver lining is we won’t have to hear their wretched music on the radio anymore or have to endure another one of their New Year’s Eve or Juno performances.

I feel bad for Katie, I bought my pots and pans off her many years ago when she worked at the pots and pans store lol. She was always a big hedley fan and then to have that happen when she meets the guy is pretty shitty.

One of my coworkers (male) had VIP tickets to their show in Thunder Bay. He asked for a refund last week. I told him he should have gone anyway, he could have been their next.

Couldn't name any of their songs, I didn't even know they were still around.

Wretched music is like those mythical creatures that if their head is cut off another one will quickly appear. Awful music will always be 'crafted' somewhere that Autotune is available and derivative lyrics can be put to paper.

True. There’s also still Simple Plan. Thankfully they seem to have slipped so far into obscurity I never hear them anymore. The worst traditional CanCon “artist” that gets way too much airtime is Colin James.

Check out this place in BC. A replica of a brazilian castle. From the aerial photo in the slideshow in the link it looks like a lego project.

Stop making fun of the biggest thing to come out of Regina since Dick Assman.

I remember quickly glancing at a blurb about the Hedley singer beingaccused and that the band would dissolve. Good to hear.....they had one or so songs that really grinded my gears a few years ago. It's true that more awful music will just come back though. (I'm just happy we don't have some shmucks like One Direction). Anyone else sick of Despacito?

That BC castle shack is sure fugly.....looks like it belongs in the Carribean or South America.

Ever since streaming there's never really been a reason to listen to radio and therefore to hear bad music. It's never been better.

Exactly. I'm 53 and have Spotify on my phone which has a playlist of about 1300 songs and I use it in the car.

Campus radio and cbc radio 2 are my backups if I want music on in the car...cbc radio 1 is circling the drain as far as I'm concerned. NPR if I'm close to the US border.

The other stations are just formats for advertisers to plug products to you while the music is spoon fed to you in small yet repetitive doses of auto tuned dirge. If it isn't that its the classic rock format which is derivative as well.

I loathe standard radio. Awful stuff. World's worst "new country" or vomit-inducing technocrap, or (in some ways, worst of all), the same 5 songs on the rotation of Classic Rock stations (Carry on my Wayward son, Summer of '69, Life's been Good, some revolting Nickelback song, "Get the Lead Out" [never a deep cut])

Been with satellite XM for more than a year. Heaven!

LOL hilarious and I agree. I will listen to CBC Radio but that's about it on the dial. Other then that I'm a Spotify guy.

How is this for a diverse playlist. I've lived here over 20 years and I swear it was the same playlist then.

In the mid 80's I worked for a summer job in a warehouse in the GTA and the might QQQQQQQQQQ 107 was blasted in the warehouse. It was the same Max Webster, ZZ Top, Zeppelin, Ac/Dc, CCR, Eagles, Ozzy, repeat/repeat all day long.

No surprises on those lists.

I swear they should just centralize Q107/CHOM/CHEZ and all of its similar stations and they play the same 100 songs every day and just have separate 'information updates' (a way to fool the CRTC into thinking they actually provide a news service) and 'traffic and weather on the 8' across Canada.

I do think though that the demographic for these stations is declining although the demographic catching up to it doesn't give me a lot of hope.

The Groundhog Day vibe you get from classic rock stations where the songs never change is probably very comforting to some, but I find it kind of depressing...
