Ooo thanks for this. No joke the full background image does not show on my mobile unless I flip to horizontal. Thought they were talking about the sketchup logo representing each tower.

Either way, when you zoom in tight there are still some braces at the top.

Agreed. It clearly shows up here as well.

On their website, the tower image was cropped in such a way that I didn't see the rest of the building.

However, it does seem that there were some subtle changes to the design. The cross members are arranged a little differently and they seem a bit thicker.

I didn’t think they had. Thought they only had marked some trees. But I could be wrong?

1105 West Peachtree/3 World Trade Center

Anyone else think there are "architectural" similarities between 1105 West Peachtree and the original design for 3 World Trade Center?

I pointed that out as well a while back - it's nothing really new design-wise; it's architecturally a gimmick but it's new to Atlanta so

True - Hopefully 1105 West Peachtree will not value engineer their project down like 3 World Trade Center did.

VERY Interesting Find(s)

Star Metals

So it looks like my beloved Star Metals project is going to get MUCH BIGGER. Star Metals page on LinkedIn notes the project is now 31 acres. On their website the office building has increased from 12 floors to 14 floors and the total project will be 1,366,500 sqft. This is HUGE!

Keep reading below because the shit is about to get REAL.....

Holy Shnikes

I did a little more investigation and found a presentation from Allen Morris (Star Metal's developer) on the project and Atlanta. I initially thought this was interesting find, but nothing noteworthy....UNTIL I HIT F'en PAGE 9 which lists companies currently looking at Atlanta for corporate relocation. Amazon is listed which didn't shock me at first - until I look at the bottom of the page and the source is listed as JLL Atlanta - Q4 2016. For those that don't know JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) is one the biggest US Commercial Real Estate Brokers and they are the broker for Star Metal (http://www.jllproperty.us/en-us/atlanta/midtown/office-property-for-lease/star-metals/591777?ct=usd).

So Amazon released their HQ2 RFP Sept 7, 2017, but JLL/Allen Morris just confirmed Amazon was looking at Atlanta almost a year prior. So there we go...Atlanta was on Amazon's radar prior to the RFP. Does the mean Atlanta will win - not necessarily. However, it does mean Atlanta is one of their preferred locations and the whole RFP/PR stunt is a load of bullshit.

First Look: 818 West Midtown - 818 West Marietta Street

818 West’s collections of 22 exceptional floor plans feature designer-selected finishes and intuitively appointed floor plans. Each home has expansive floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic skyline views for your modern in-town lifestyle.
  • I believe this is a condo building.

Could easily have been a typo, 2017 vs 2016, or it could have been referencing the IT regional headquarters they decided to move to Atlantic Station. Interesting information nevertheless.

The slide says, "companies eyeing Atlanta for their North American HQ". Seem fairly specific. O - and the presentation is dated 9/21/17. So JLL would have had to gotten the quarter and year wrong.

What a great looking project! This area is so hot. Probably Atlanta’s #1 or 2 area not directly on a HRT line that needs reliable transit service due to density and proximity to the core.

Hanover Midtown (this block is going to feel super weird once it’s complete. Also, this project is also making a great appearance form the EST, as its on a very high elevation)

Alexan 880 (seems like the street level engagement and material will look really nice once complete)

MARTA needs to get their head out of the sand and get to work on this. I don't think a streetcar/light rail line down Northside and North Ave will cut it.

EDIT: Meaning almost all the development is happening away from Northside.
