What is that going on between Sea Island and Bridgeport?
Not sure - did a search and couldn't find anything.
It's not part of the International Trade Centre, nor Duck Island.
It must be tall-ish for that much preloading.
For the site between Sea Island Way and Bridgeport Road fronting No. 3 Rd.
This diagram shows "New Continental - Commercial Development" circled in yellow below at that location.
A $150-million development proposed for north Richmond could become an international hub for education,

Dubbed Global Education City, the development would occupy a site on the west side of No. 3 Road,
between Bridgeport Road and Sea Island Way, near River Rock Casino Resort.
This is a different project than the one between Sea Island and Bridgeport. This one is between Hwy 99 and a shopping plaza; I drive by every week and they've begun to clear the site of trees and trash.

I had to do a double-take myself until I looked at the picture and site in question (between Sea Island and Bridgeport). It does say, "New Continental" in the picture as posted by officedweller.

The residential buildings on No. 3 Rd. look awful (podium at Alderbridge looks okay).
The rear and side facades look better.
I guess they are trying to make the No. 3 Rd. side looks more like office buildings with the flat facades/inset balconies?
The Alderbridge façade - with the vertical elements - looks the best.

to what is planned immediately south of it. I think the GBL project needs to up its game.

The retail floorplan shown seems to omit the grocery store at the north end of the site.
The plan shown doesn't properly interface with the new east-west road to the north
and the retail areas shown are missing 15,526 sq ft (from the 44,000 sq ft total)
Burquitlam Park Site
◾A 50-storey condo tower and 30-storey rental tower;
◾275 rental units;
◾435 condo units;
◾a new 60,000 SF 3-storey YMCA recreation facility;
◾a new community police station;
◾total density of 6.30 FAR;
◾930 parking stalls;
◾New 1.5 acre Burquitlam Park.
Guessing there's going to be some backlash regarding the park land and it's not unreasonable- they're selling it as a net increase in space across the two parks but Burquitlam Park is getting cut basically in half. Kind of a shame since it's so central and a great spot for families. I'd honestly rather they left that park alone (besides the new YMCA), have a more modest addition to Cottonwood Park, and let them go nuts density-wise on the rest of the Whitgift Gardens site.
I do really love the huge amount of rental though. And 9-storey podiums? Wow. I don't see it mentioned anywhere but I wonder if there's going to be any commercial space at the base of any of these towers?
