Yeah was expected to be 2018 all along, just guessing Spring now instead of start of 2018.

Project has Preliminary Approval (3rd reading). Article says it's going for Final Adoption this month. Roller rink lease extension is up in January.

There isn't.

At least on the sub trade side. Projects cannibalizing off each other already.

Barring a global calamity, 2018 is going to be a logistics nightmare for the construction industry.

I'm liking how the tower is broken up into 3 sections. Will stand out nicely at night with the LED lighting planned to illuminate the breaks.

Does lease for the roller rink expire in the beginning of 2018 or end of January?

^According to the Arena website - the lease has been extended again. They have ball hockey scheduled right through April.

Guessing this wont be starting til summer or fall now.

I'm with you on that prediction. This project guaranteed won't be U/C this year. Maybe at best they can have a fully excavated site by the end of 2018.

I consider that as construction and no I don't see that happening this year either

There is a pretty good chance that they will be excavating this year. They need to have the roller rink demolished to satisfy the requirements of 4th Reading (Final approval). They have a year from 3rd reading (Nov 6, 2017) to satisfy those requirements. They can always pay a fee to extend - but seems like they would want to secure 4th reading by the end of the year at least.
