Seriously though, without the city v city, I love how beefy most Chicago supertalls are. With the exception of 2 Pru which is only a metric supertall anyhow, this will basically be the most anorexic supertall in the skyline and it's still a beast. There's just something more exhilarating about watching them build beefier buildings, like that Index tower in Dubai that's like the size of Chase Tower, but as tall as Vista will be. The stump of this tower is similarly girthy, it's impressive to watch.

I'd love for us to get three more, I'm thinking we might be able to pull one (OCS) this cycle. Possibly WPS (if the crown/mechanical pushes it past 1,000 ft), depending how quickly they start it once WPE wraps up. Not sure the Tribune tower will make it this cycle, but I definitely see it getting built. It just might take a bit longer than we'd like.

Here is to hoping though

I didn't think the developer was even hoping for Tribune this cycle. Aren't they projecting a construction start in like 2022?

That's going to be after the crash of 2019 and recovery.

Facade is supposedly scheduled to start going up in February, so yes.

I think one a week. Also the lowest tier is on a different schedule and I don't think it effects the speed on the taller one.

Does anyone know if that 23rd/24th taller floor is a lobby level for the start of the apartment tower or perhaps a sky lobby/executive level for the top of the hotel? Or is it some kind of mechanical floor?

Damn I cant seem to down load this pic from the
Bennet tower crane.

I suspect you would need a facebook account to view it. At this height it looks squat and not tall at all yet.
