Twas a beautiful walk to work today, almost magical. Still don't get people who look miserable, but have no gloves or hat.

My favourite is the douches returning at YEG from their sun vacation drunkathon still dressed like its Mexico or wherever and it's at least -20 in Edmonton. Seriously, arrive in flip-flops and a tank top?

maybe they’re not all douches... maybe they just didn’t want to cart parkas and gloves and boots and touques to and around mexico and back? maybe they checked their winter gear in a locker at the airport when they left and haven’t picked it up yet? maybe whoever is picking them up is bringing winter gear for them? our son arrives up to two or three times a winter from singapore and there’s no way he’s carting winter gear to 300 km from the equator and back again - he wouldn’t have anyplace to store it there even if he wanted to. we bring it with us when we pick him up.

I'm smart enough to at least wear pants and a long sleeve shirt when I travel, regardless if my point of origin or destination is a sauna or a deep freeze. I'm not expecting people to pack like they're off to do the Iditarod, or just coming back from it. It's called a few cents of common sense.

Well.....

Pros.....

Great location

obviously very new

Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Food in the lounge was pretty good.

It was a very good view of downtown.

Liquor store across the street

Cons....

If you drive a truck...good luck getting into or out of the underground parking haha. Its very tricky. I honestly don't know why they would build the entrance and exit so narrow.

Also $ 28.00 for parking for hotel guests!!! ouch.

lounge was only open till 11pm!

The front end staff lacked customer service experience. Not very personable or knowledgeable about what was going on around their hotel this weekend.

Did Not happen to us but some customers didn't have hot water Sunday am!!

The hotel rugs needed a vacuuming. Everywhere we looked there was lint and food crumbs etc. Also hotel furniture really needed a dusting. U could actually see the dust build up. But are room was immaculate!

Didn't see any staff cleaning anywhere in the hotel.
