By the way, when I was shooting yesterday I noticed a hotel elevator going up and down, and they're really fast! They move about a floor a second!

I saw that this morning, it's visible from pretty far away and will add a really dynamic feel to the building - both day and night.

All eyes are on the spire!
Everyone knows that this will be the defining architectural statement of the Comcast Technology Center.

Im glad that in real life the roof appears to be the same height as the Comcast tower. In renders it looked shorter and that made it look weird. Looks great now in real life.

The roof of the Comcast Technology Center is actually taller than the nearby Comcast Center (minus the mechanical roof).

Greatful to have Comcast building the skyline.
Imagine the Amazon Towers being built in Philly at the Schuylkill Yards.

You're right; if Amazon were to come here and builds Schuylkill Yards out with a modern skyline like this; with a degree of differing designs and heights then Philly will be the envy of North America; especially if we have an increasingly more business friend climate.

All I can think of is one tower at about 1050' and one around 1200' just as sleek; and stylish maybe like the Shard in London!

Those are great pics, with the cladding going up on the spire.

If you are measuring from sea level I think they are about the same but CTIC is slightly down hill from Comcast 1.

great shot, love the color of the glass in that picture. It's also good to see the vertical trim is all the way to the top. Now they just have to get rid of the blue Saran Wrap

Do you guys think the metal structure/cross beams beneath the glass cladding will be visible once lit up? It’s clearly visible when the sun hits it at the right angle.. so once it’s lit up internally it’ll also be visible? Sort of like lighting up a tent from the inside.. shadows casted on the walls. Unless there will be a wall of lights attached to the actual glass, creating a barrier between the internals. I’m sure it’s the later but honestly the structure being viewable through the glass would kind of be cool. It’d be very industrial looking and blend well with the the overall look of the building (diagonal supports /cladding on the east and west sides).

are you talking about the whole building or just the lantern? I was wondering about this question as related to the lantern, it looks like the glass is going very flush onto the steel framing which makes me wonder what kind of lighting will be going up there. I was thinking all along there would be a gap between the glass & the steel with lights installed in between so that the entire structure could light up as one rather than be broken up by all the framing?
