Selig owns the land just to the north of the station (and maybe the station too?). We were inquiring about a lease there and the terms included a fairly short notice suggesting that they are anticipating developing that block in the near future.

Hi Atlanta friends, one of my BFFs from here in NYC is performing a terrific show at the Alliance Theatre (actually the History Center during Alliance renovations). It's a very timely piece about history and race. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/21/theat...nta-history-center-alliance-theater.html

Maybe this stretch of spring can be saved if a big enough development goes to this location and the parking garage across the street would be redeveloped? I always feel a little better when Selig owns some land. That said, i hope we see more projects of theirs break ground this year or at least get more updated renderings of 1125 Peachtree. Something taller and more iconic than PwC to fill in the gap in the skyline would be fantastic, obviously.

Do you happen to know who owns the land just north of Selig? There is not a parcel for it on the Atlanta viewer, so maybe the city or state? It's where the 15th street/bridge extension would go (and a lot taller of a lot than I would have anticipated).

Tuckerman, there's talk of bringing the show to New York after it's run there, not Broadway because it's not that type of show, but some other respectable local theatre. Glad you liked it! I'll tell January.

January was indeed terrific, as was the rest of the cast. As a Northerner whose great grandfather was with Sherman's army in Atlanta, I had little or no appreciation of the civil war and its many dimensions. This story needs to be told.We were taught such a simplified version of what history was at that time.

Someone posted a few days back about the likely sale of Tilford Yard.

I live in Hills Park, adjacent to the yard, and I can tell you that it is completely empty. No trains. We started noticing a reduction of train traffic after the Hump Yard was disassembled several months ago. The NS yard is still active, but also appears to.be reducing train traffic.

Redevelopment of Tilford makes sense with it's proximity to the new quarry park.

$20 Billion should be for the building and equipment - Capital Equipment. Wages/Labor are not considered investments.

Regardless, $20 Billion investment in one data center location would probably make it one of the largest in the world. Typical data centers cost between $250 Million to $2.5 Billion. $20 Billion is on another level.

I honestly wouldn't put much stock in anything ABC says, let alone this. $20 billion is just a hilariously huge number. I mean that's cool if they are investing an amount equal to the GDP to several small African countries combined in exurban Atlanta for some reason, but I'm gonna put myself in the skeptical camp this one.

I'm pretty confident in Facebook building the data center here. But it might be $2 billion and not $20 billion.
