Not the back. The bridge to the left confirms this is the view of the building from the MBS. The apartments in the back appear unchanged

it's not the back it's just a massively value-engineered version of the original concept. I wasn't expecting a carbon copy of the concept but this is just sad. They got most of the functional beats from the original with none of the energy.

The apartments are not 11 stories without balconies. That is definitely the hotel and it looks like a bowl of pooo.

After referencing the old rendering it does appear to be the same orientation. Regardless, the last bit of news on groundbreaking by Curbed on Nov 17th used the design we've all been seeing:

The rando image A3K posted has never been associated to any news publication as our Hard Rock Hotel so I would take it with a grain of salt.

It's called value-engineering. Plans recycled from a recent business hotel project in Puyang. This stuff happens.

I think the original plans are what is being built. Is anyone near the construction site? Maybe they can take pictures of the fencing that has the rendering.

Let's remember that the same firm is building several apartments along the Blvd corridor. Let's hope to god they don't pull this stunt there.

Also, FWIW the Hard Rock website still lists an Atlanta hotel under development.

I'm afraid to report that the Value Engineered version is indeed what is being built-- If you look at Hardrock Hotels around the country few are great architecture--

I'll be the contrarian and say that maybe the original rendering is a bit glitzy for Castleberry. It may not be the right fit for that vibe.

That's all fine and dandy. But that doesn't mean they have to throw up garbage instead of glitz. Hell, make it industrial looking.

lol... the rendering on the signage of the groundbreaking ceremony photo (in the background) is the one we had assumed was getting built.
