5 over 30 in one year?!? There's only four being built right now and that's over a 3 to 5 year span given how long it takes to build a 30 storey tower.

Oh wait. It's for proposals. I couldn't be any less interested.

Does anyone think there is actually going to be a project at this location.

Alway thought is was a bargaining chip for Procura to swap it with another piece of COE property.

I believe Procura tried to swap this with the City for some land at Century Park but it never materialized.

Yes, I think its a great site for development especially given who the rumoured purchaser is.

^correct, but they also had a ton of projects in Central Calgary on the go. That said, it is slow here as well.

I feel like Edmonton and Calgary are two very different ball games though. While the economy will definitely have an impact in both cities, Edmonton is just starting to see a trend in urban living.

If done right, as in no massive podium essentially making a Trump wall in front of the hotel, I'm totally for a development there. Hotel Mac is already retracted far enough from Jasper Ave to not have a massive street impact there IMO. The real jewel of the views is behind the Mac, which we will forever have.

Overshadowing landmarks is nearly as important as not blocking them from view. There's hundreds if not thousands of view corridors out there for this very reason.
