That stupid building in Bulgaria has been spamming me everywhere there’s online ads.

A new suburban condo building in Calgary. This hardie board siding has become the new cheap stucco / vinyl siding. It looks alright when done sparingly and mixed with other materials but cheap developers just plaster it on.

Detail of the horrid siding. I find with this type of hardie board it looks like absolute ass unless they match the seams. I chalk it up to cheapness.

Looks like the Ikea version of Edmonton's The Venetian. What is that hideous lime green slime? Does it kill mosquitos or something? Is it armor against Clockzilla? What the fuck is it?

Oh man that observation tower / office building complex is awful! Rivals Nelson New Zealand’s McClocky.

Nice Roy Moore too. Glad that turd got flushed down the toilet even if only by 1.5%.

Where is that one? I was randomly going through newer areas in Calgary on streetview yesterday and came across these monstrosities that are somewhat similar:

The best way to fix your ads is to do some searching for items in google. I spent some time looking up guitars and effects pedals and, BAM, all I see are guitars and effects pedals for days on end. Pure eye candy now.

Yeah, it was pretty cool and different 10 years ago and a welcome reprieve from the endless stucco typically used in these parts, but this look is getting a little tired.

Interestingly, I find that MURBs and commercial buildings tend to overuse this kind of siding while it's still a rare sight on single-family homes.

I actually kind of like that Belgrade building... I didn't realize it was overseas. I just figured it was some North York thing and I was starting to wonder why I wasn't seeing it on any of the construction threads

Hardie Plank is more popular on houses, looks like cedar siding. I like it.

It's in Seton in the SE across from the south hospital.

The ones you posted from streetview look equally abhorrent. That material seems to be the new go-to cheapo siding that developers have decided to start using.

^ Yeah, that's not bad bearing in mind the financial limitations with mid-range home construction. If you scaled that down to a SFH with similar ratios of glass, boards and planks, I think it would look pretty nice.

I installed all the a/c in the suites that have it at 1741. Strangely not all suites had it roughed in which is stupid. Westman village we are roughing in everybsuite so that it can be added later if wanted. Same thing at flats of sand gate.

All around ugly. Who are they trying to kid with masterplans with cardboard, half kilometre multi-residential?
