Westman is insane, we're doing a/c installs there. Both the commercial and residential. Fortunately I haven't had to work there yet, too much driving every day.

Westman Village is just a development within a community.

Westman village is a group of condo buildings within the neighborhood of Mahogany.

It's being built on one of those empty lots shown in the google map. It's giving suburban neighborhoods a feel of downtown, for those who don't care to truck all the way downtown.

It is far from the density of the centre of Panorama Hills (around the "Gates of Panorama" commercial core) but still is trying to create some sort of in-community commercial area with medium density, which is a good thing. On the other hand, Mahogany has a beach club, which is nice

Hey guys, I just want to point out a few things:

If anyone feels like the thread is heading to an off-topic direction, feel free to create an appropriate thread in the appropriate forum and invite others interested in the discussion to have the discussion elsewhere.

There is a lot of aggressive behaviour going on with lots of accusations. If you are worried that the conversation is degrading into invective, accusations and what not, please report these posts. Some posters are feeling too free to use overhashed portmanteaus that one encounters in newspaper comment sections. This will come to a surprise to a few here but this is coming from all sides. Please treat each other posters here with respect.

I'm pretty sure nobody is getting a feeling of downtown hanging out at Westman Village, but it bates the usual suburban garbage.

I've always found lake Bonavista to be well used, and their club there with swimming in the lake, and a plot of sand, is really quite well used. I get that some people don't appreciate these sort of amenities, but for those who like water and have kids, they are more than welcome. I'm not sure how Mahogany will work its water opportunities.

The addition of an arena to this equation would be absolutely spectacular and a win-win, as the arena would be able to leverage all of the expansion and revitalization that just an arena can never bring to an area. It would also create a pathway to massive international events, should there be a decision to go that way.

Pretty exciting stuff!

Given the subsequent announcement that Rotary has been landed for 2025, and as I had shared, the BMO completion target is 2024, these two could be linked. Really looking forward to these expanded community assets, and am fully for supporting the stampede / victoria park vision!

It’s great that you’re trying to putte don’t out the dumpster fire, I do respect that, but Tarsus is right don’t insult our intelligence. When it comes to construction updates the two sites aren’t in the same solar system. SSP has other areas that SRC doesn’t such as political and art debate, and the airport thread.

As for the crediting of the Twitter pics, I don’t know what you’re getting at. The Twitter pics on SRC are properly credited as far as I can tell. The guy here on SSP was taking pics from someone else and uploading them to his own personal account and then posting them here under his name - not the same issue at all.

Hmmm ... looks like ripping photos of Cancer Centre construction from Twitter without proper acknowledgement though (same tweet shared here previously).

I think the video of construction that was posted here was much newer, but I think the problem here is that there is no specific thread created for the cancer centre. When one of the people with a pinch more time has a chance, please create one here. We've had a good number of updates over time, but they are not all consolidated in one place.

I just went through every post since 12/1 and there were plenty that were on topic. What does the length of the post have to do with quality? The post you referenced had some great photos but it also resulted in a ton of posts bitching about the horse statue. By the way, those posts have been removed. Is every post that doesn't meet your standards toxic?

These are being used to act as aggressive posts against other forumers here and that has to stop. You want to see the place improve, then contribute yourself. Yes there are 3 cranes. More impressive even though there are no cranes anymore is the activity going on in Seton.
