I think the underwhelming part is because the twist and the groove the lighting is in tend to limit the angles from which it is visible,
and create different intensities from different angles.

Hate to burst your bubble but history teaches us that most modern lighting features last a couple of years at best, and then are unceremoniously shut off, typically as a cost saving measure due to insane operational, maintenance and upkeep costs.

One bright spot being the refurbishment of One Wall Centre's crown lighting....
(but that would probably be corporate (not condo) owned.)

Where is your source? Or do you mean this phenomenon only happens in the fine City of Vancouver?

I wonder if the lighting features for City Hall will also last only a couple of years.....

I wonder how they got that really bright One Wall Sheraton sign and logo up on one of the shorter buildings without objections from the City.

That's because those signs are lower than 450 ft.

Because it's compliant with the city's signage bylaws...

Just wait for him to argue that you're wrong.

The tree on Smithe in front of the Homer Building has ben cut down.

Not sure why as it seemed to be a healthy tree.
Could be because it blocked the building's lightwell?

Here's a pic of it during construction of The Beasley:

Here's a "timelapse" of the demolition process (consisting of one guy with a sledgehammer):

Two more years at this pace, and it should be pretty much done!

Wondering when they'll take the dead vines off the Law Society Building
- or whether they'll be entombed between the two...

Interesting that the floor is flush with the outside. I thought there had to be a ledge so water didn't come in. Love it though. If I lived there I'd never leave

$3,000,000 units for sure help with our supply problem.

Regardless of that - should be cool to see this one go up, I imagine the code challenges will be immense.

The outside surface is likely permeable and the actual slab/waterproof membrane is beneath it. It's possible the inside portion is also raised above any structural portion.

Absolutely LOVE the look though. The envelope is surely incredibly expensive but it is fantastic.

The adjacent building is so close, forget about the view, they will need to close the blind.
